Famous Species of Soft-colored Rhododendrons

Even though the classic rhododendrons were famous for its dark red and other deeper colors, nowadays there is a high demand for softer genres. Yellow and other light colored Rhododendrons are highly in demand because of its brightness and attractiveness. They are extensively used during the spring season for creating bouquets and adorning the interiors. One of the most famous yellow Rhododendrons are known as pachysanthum ‘Crosswater’.

Rhododendron pachysanthum Crosswater was actually developed in Taiwan. The species is one of the choicest and its faint pinkish white color is supremely enchanting. Its foliage has a silvery tomentum along its leaves that gives it a unique impression. The plant doesn’t grow much taller compared to other rhododendrons. However, they touch the height of 100 cm in around 10 years time.

Another warm-colored Rhododendron which is highly in demand is called as Nancy Evans. Rhododendron Nancy Evans has a reddish yellow combination with the red patches weaning off as the flowers mature. The flowering stage starts earlier during the end of April or the beginning of May. They have reddish crimson stalk and fully developed flowers have a bright crimson yellow hue. This hybrid variety is a cross of Hotei with Lem’s Cameo. A fully fledged Nancy Evan plant reaches up till 1.5 meter in height.
